WORK SCHEDULE
This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position, with an average of approximately 20 hours per week. The work schedule will be determined based on operational requirements. Availability to respond to emergency callouts outside of regularly scheduled hours is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position is based in Regina; however, travel throughout the Last Mountain Railway (LMR) and Big Sky Rail (BGS) territory is required, as operationally needed.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Signal Maintainer is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of railway signal and grade crossing systems. Based in Regina, this position supports the safe and reliable operation of the Last Mountain Railway (LMR) and Big Sky Rail (BGS) by ensuring signal infrastructure is maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This position is ideal for an experienced Signal Maintainer who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, working independently, and taking ownership of critical railway infrastructure. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and repairing railway signal and grade crossing systems, responding to operational issues as they arise, and helping ensure the safe and reliable operation of MobilGrain's railway network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
· Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair railway signal and grade crossing systems.
· Perform scheduled inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
· Respond to signal failures and emergency service calls.
· Install, repair, replace, and adjust signal equipment and related infrastructure.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Complete required inspection, testing, and maintenance records.
· Complete all Inspection/callout logbooks.
· Maintain compliance with company policies, operating rules, and regulatory requirements.
· Participate in on-call coverage and emergency response as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education
· Railway Signal Maintainer qualification is preferred.
Experience
· Experience maintaining railway signal and grade crossing systems.
· Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
Skills
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Successful completion of pre-employment testing.
· Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, working at heights, and working on uneven terrain.
· Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency callouts as operationally required.
Employment Requirements
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
· Clean driving record and insurability under the Company's vehicle insurance policy.
· Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
