About the Role
Veterinary Assistants are an essential part of our medical team. They provide support to veterinarians and registered veterinary technologists while helping ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting veterinarians and RVTs with patient care and treatments
- Safely handling and restraining patients
- Preparing examination and treatment areas
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining medical equipment and treatment spaces
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures and sample collection
- Supporting surgical and rehabilitation services as directed
- Monitoring patient comfort and well-being
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Stocking supplies and maintaining inventory
- Communicating with clients regarding patient care instructions and follow-up recommendations
- Supporting all areas of the clinic as needed to ensure exceptional patient and client care

Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and safely handle patients and equipment as required
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic
- Veterinary Assistant experience
- Animal handling experience
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
- Experience with veterinary software programs
- Post-secondary education in animal health or a related field
Schedule
Clinic Hours: 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Full-time position
- Flexible shifts within clinic hours
- Evening availability required
- No weekend shifts
