Position Title: Senior Design Engineer
Department: Engineering
Location: Saskatoon, SK, Canada

The Opportunity

The Senior Design Engineer is expected to complete their projects on time, on budget and with minimum supervision. You will oversee and participate in a broad spectrum of engineering work including design updates to our product lines, lean initiatives, research & development and troubleshooting production issues. This role is highly cross-functional and involves working closely with the Purchasing, Production, and Sales departments.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine product designs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and R&D to ensure design feasibility and performance.
Conduct design reviews and make recommendations for improvements.
Analyze design problems and provide effective solutions.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs.
Maintain accurate records of design iterations and changes.
Other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor
Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Preference given to P. Eng. designation
5-10 years relevant experience in engineering with manufacturing industry
Experience in mechanical design and metal fabrication process
Proficiency with 3D design platforms; Solid Works experience an asset
Experience in the Agricultural industry strongly preferred
Understanding of mechanical machinery and hydraulic principles preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
