REPORTS TO:
Full-time, permanent; 40 hours/week
LOCATION:
We are a fully virtual team that is spread across Canada. We welcome talent from across the country and have on-reserve office space within our parent company’s headquarters just south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

We are seeking a
Communications & Content Specialist
to join our Creative Fire team. This role is responsible for contributing to and implementing communications strategies as well as comprehensive supporting plans to achieve client-specific organizational goals. We are looking for a self-starter with exceptional writing skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and competing timelines. Our ideal candidate is a thoughtful, strategic thinker, with the ability to understand different perspectives and needs, and a drive to deliver real results for clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply writing style guides with strong attention to detail to produce effective content across formats, including social media, ad copy, blogs, media releases, websites, reports, and proposals.
Research, write, and edit to develop compelling communication materials and content.
Prepare content strategies, outlines, and creative briefs.
Translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging language tailored to different audiences.
Distill insights from research, engagement, or technical content into strong messaging.
Translate conversations and inputs into structured, usable outputs.
Bring an understanding of communication best practices to develop and translate strategy goals into effective content and materials.
Write with care and respect in Indigenous contexts.
Provide proofing and sensitivity review of draft deliverables to support the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant post-secondary education in communications, marketing, creative writing, or equivalent.
Training and/or experience applying Plain Language/Clear Language principles.
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in copy writing and communications.
Passionate about working with and contributing to the prosperity of Indigenous communities, businesses and organizations.
Familiar with
Elements of Indigenous Style: A Guide book by Gregory Younging
Experience in an agency or consulting practice preferred.
Experience in brand strategy considered an asset.
Driven to understand client needs and develop solutions that exceed expectations.
Highly developed attention to detail.
Forward thinking and in touch with current communications trends.
Self-identifying as Indigenous and/or having first-hand knowledge or experience living in and/or working with an Indigenous community will be considered an asset.
