Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanent Early Childhood Educator Level I to join our team. This role involves fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through educational activities and personalized care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Must have experience and enjoy working with children 18m - 3 years. Must have valid First Aid and CPR "C", Saskatchewan certified ECE Level I and a CPIC less than 6 months old which includes a vulnerable sector search. Must be available Monday-Friday for shifts between the hours of 7:30-5:30

Duties

Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, learning and kindness
Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's development and classroom events.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and improve teaching strategies.
Utilize computer skills for documentation, planning, and communication purposes.
Demonstrate leadership in managing classroom routines and guiding children’s behavior positively.
Manage time efficiently to balance instructional tasks with administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; classroom experience is preferred.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development theories.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
Strong English communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to foster a collaborative classroom environment.
Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs.

Pay: $21.20-$27.35 per hour
