Full job description

Overview
Sky Metals Ltd is looking for a reliable and motivated Assessor to cover territories in Alberta and Saskatchewan. In this role, you will go to customer sites, sign contracts, conduct field assessments of scrap metal materials, and help secure new business.

Responsibilities

Drive a company work truck to customer sites within Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Perform on-site scrap metal inspections and field assessments (ferrous and non-ferrous metals).
Sign contracts with suppliers and customers directly in the field.
Identify new suppliers and opportunities through site visits, industry contacts, and outreach.
Provide clear, accurate field reports and recommendations to management.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
Monitor industry trends to spot new opportunities.
Follow all company policies and safety procedures during assessments and travel.

Requirements

Knowledge of scrap market pricing.
Good communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.
Must be comfortable with in person and phone communication and developing new customer relationships.
Ability to work independently and manage your schedule across two provinces.
Physically able to move around outdoor sites and occasionally assist equipment operators with material handling when required.
Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required).
Ability to travel frequently within Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Qualifications

Prior experience in scrap metal, construction, logistics, or field assessments is an asset.
Prior Sales Experience
Basic computer and smartphone skills for field reporting.

$33/hour + commission. High performers can earn up to $100,000/year.

Schedule:

Field-based schedule that varies depending on site visits and supplier availability. On-call availability.
