As we continue to grow, we are currently looking for an experienced Underground Electrician to join our team at Cory Potash Mine. We strongly prefer Journeyperson Electricians; however highly motivated apprentices with relevant experience may also be considered.

Schedule: 7-on, 7-off rotation | 12-Hour Shifts | Alternating Day and Night Rotations
Compensation: $35.00 - $50.00/ Hour (Starting rate based on experience & specialized ticket premiums)
Commute: Independent commute required | Living Out Allowance (LOA) available for eligible employees. Please note: This is not a camp job.
Position Summary
As an Underground Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting electrical systems and mining equipment used in underground operations. Working closely with site crews and leadership, you will help ensure equipment reliability, maximize operational uptime, and support safe and efficient underground production.
This role requires a strong commitment to safety, technical expertise, quality workmanship, and teamwork in a demanding underground mining environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a safety-sensitive position with no direct reports. Your duties include:
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor equipment performance: Inspect and support drum miners, alpine miners, conveyance systems, and other electrically powered mining equipment.
- Diagnose electrical issues: Troubleshoot electrical, control, and power distribution systems to maintain equipment reliability.
- Perform repairs: Repair, adjust, and maintain electrical-powered mining equipment and associated systems.
Equipment Reliability & Planning
- Support preventative maintenance: Work closely with operators, drillers, miners, and maintenance personnel to ensure preventative maintenance programs are effectively executed.
- Maintain records: Complete equipment inspections, maintenance documentation, and repair history records accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in planning: Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Support & Safety
- Collaborate: Work closely with operators, miners, mechanics, supervisors, cross-shift co-workers, and site leadership to support production objectives.
- Safety leadership: Follow all HCC and client safety procedures and actively participate in safety meetings, inspections, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement programs.
- Communicate effectively: Report equipment status, maintenance requirements, and repair progress to site leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Certification: Journeyperson Electrician certification preferred. Qualified apprentices with relevant industrial or mining experience may also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of industry experience, with at least 1 year of underground mining experience preferred.
- Electrical knowledge: Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems and electrically powered mobile or fixed equipment.
- High voltage experience: Knowledge of underground high-voltage power distribution systems.
- License: Valid driver’s license.
- Physical requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in underground mining environments.
- Attributes: Strong safety focus, good judgment, dependability, initiative, and excellent communication skills.
Asset Qualifications
- Underground mining experience: Previous experience supporting underground mining operations.
- Electrical systems: Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Mine safety training: Current Saskatchewan General Mine Safety Awareness (GMSA), Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platforms, Confined Space, or other mining-related certifications.
- Additional certifications: Current First Aid/ CPR certification or additional trade qualifications.
- Mining equipment experience: Experience maintaining drum miners, continuous miners, conveyor systems, pumps, underground communication systems, or other mining-related equipment.
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
