Location: Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB), Education Centre, with regular travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties to schools and community sites
Supervisor: Superintendent of Education, Learning Services - Equity/Indigenous Education
Permanent: 35 hours per week, 12-month position
Annual Salary: $73,430-$85,905 (Sept.1/25 rate)
P osition Summary :
In support of the strategic priorities of Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB), we are seeking an Inclusive Education Coordinator who will provide leadership in advancing equity, human rights, anti-racism, and inclusive education across the system.
The selected candidate will support implementation of the Ontario Equity Action Plan through professional learning, community engagement, relationship building, and system-level initiatives that promote student achievement and well-being across schools and communities throughout Grey and Bruce Counties.
A key focus of this role is supporting equitable outcomes for students from historically underserved and marginalized communities, including Black students, students from equity-deserving groups, and other racialized students. The selected candidate will have demonstrated experience working with racialized communities and applying anti-racist, culturally responsive, and identity-affirming practices to improve student achievement, engagement, and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in transformational work to expand cultures of respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
- Implement equity action planning in support of strategic priorities in areas of excellence in teaching and learning, equity, diversity and inclusion, community, and well-being.
- Build and enhance a culture of respect for the principles of human rights and equity through leadership, education, training, and relationship building.
- Provide support for professional learning and development.
- Support student achievement, successful transitions, and cultural initiatives.
- Work with school and system staff to support student achievement and well-being of students who are historically underserved.
- Contribute to the development and design of educational programs and provide system-wide and customized training workshops.
- Promote a positive human rights culture and educational programs designed to eliminate disadvantage caused by discrimination/harassment resulting in positive systemic changes.
- Provide leadership in fostering diversity, equity and inclusiveness in contributing to the development and implementation of programs and services.
- Support equitable teaching and learning for all students through culturally responsive and relevant pedagogy.
- Develop, strengthen, and sustain collaborative partnerships with families, community organizations, and equity-deserving communities to support student achievement, well-being, belonging, and equitable access to opportunities, and ensure that initiatives are informed by the voices, experiences, and identities of students, families, and communities served by the Board.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in equity studies, diversity and inclusion, social work, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, including the development, implementation, or support of initiatives that advance outcomes for Black students, racialized students, and other equity-deserving groups.
Assets:
- Experience designing and/or delivering equity, anti-racism, and culturally responsive learning opportunities for educators, students, and families.
- Experience collaborating with community organizations and equity-deserving communities to address barriers and support student achievement, well-being, and belonging.
- Knowledge of systemic barriers impacting equity-deserving and underserved communities and the ability to apply anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and culturally responsive practices.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Lived experience and/or demonstrated experience working alongside Black, racialized, and other equity-deserving communities is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, sound judgement, sensitivity, and an inclusive approach to building consensus and solving problems.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong digital literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to effectively use and adapt to emerging technologies and online platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project coordination skills.
- Experience working within Ontario's publicly funded education system or a related sector, with demonstrated transferable knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Grey and Bruce counties.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Clear vulnerable sector reference check.
