Full job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Culinary Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations at our high-volume establishment. The ideal candidate will assist in leading the culinary team to ensure food quality, consistency, and safety standards are met while maintaining a productive and positive kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring timeliness and consistency.
Support and guide line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff during shifts.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef on menu planning, specials, and inventory control.
Monitor food quality and portion control to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve skills and ensure adherence to recipes and safety protocols.
Assist with ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and supplies.
Handle customer concerns or special requests related to food preparation as needed.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report issues for timely repair.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree not necessary
2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
Food handler certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Tolerance for high heat, steam, and busy kitchen environments.

Work Environment:

High-volume kitchen in a [restaurant/hotel/resort/venue] setting with peak periods requiring fast and efficient service.
