The Position
Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or designate, the Stewardship, Territorial Lands Management (STLM) Division Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, planning, implementation, and oversight of the Nation's stewardship, lands, marine, environmental, archaeological, resource management and territorial protection activities. The position provides operational leadership to programs and initiatives that support the protection, management, and sustainable use of shíshálh lands, waters, marine resources, cultural heritage resources and traditional territories.
The STLM Division Manager ensures that departmental operations support the Nation's environmental, cultural, stewardship, and territorial priorities while maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, funding agreements, policies, permits and operational standards. The position is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team and coordinating the implementation of approved departmental work plans and operational priorities.

Marine Planning and Resource Protection

Resource Management

Oversee resource management programs.

Coordinate fisheries, forestry, wildlife, and environmental initiatives.

Archaeology and Heritage Protection

Community Engagement

Financial Management

Intergovernmental and Technical Collaboration

Governance and Operational Boundaries
The STLM Division Manager is an operational leadership position.
The position shall:

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

A Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Land Use Planning, Indigenous Governance, Biology, Forestry, Fisheries, Archaeology, Geography, or related discipline.
- A Business Administration Degree would be an asset.

Minimum seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience.

Minimum five (5) years managing multidisciplinary teams.

Experience working with Indigenous governments.

Experience managing environmental and stewardship programs.

Experience with regulatory processes and environmental legislation.
