Our fleet includes tank trucks, combo-vacs, hydro-vacs, high pressure jetting equipment, scrubbers, trailers, and other specialized equipment supporting oil and gas operations across Northwest Alberta.

We are currently hiring a Parts Person / Service Writer to support our maintenance and repair operations. These roles will work a 10 and 4 schedule, allowing for overlap between positions and improved weekend coverage for the shop, operations, and fleet support teams.
Role Overview
The Parts Person / Service Writer will support daily maintenance operations by managing parts, coordinating repair activity, creating and maintaining work orders, tracking service documentation, and helping keep fleet equipment ready for work.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone with strong parts knowledge, heavy equipment experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with mechanics, drivers, supervisors, dispatch, vendors, and management. The successful candidates will help keep repairs moving, reduce downtime, and support safe, efficient fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Management
- Source, order, receive, inspect, organize, and issue parts for trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and shop operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels, parts usage, and purchasing documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors on pricing, availability, lead times, deliveries, returns, cores, credits, and warranty items.
- Work with mechanics and supervisors to identify parts requirements and support repair planning.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts area.
Service Writing & Maintenance Coordination
- Create, manage, update, and close work orders for repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and compliance-related work.
- Receive and document repair requests, defects, and maintenance concerns.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance activity with mechanics, drivers, supervisors, and operations.
- Track labour hours, parts usage, repair details, equipment status, and supporting documentation.
- Communicate repair progress, downtime, and priority updates to the maintenance team, dispatch, and management.
Fleet Compliance & Administration
- Assist with scheduling and tracking CVIP inspections, preventative maintenance services, hose inspections, certifications, and regulatory repairs.
- Maintain accurate fleet maintenance records.
- Enter and maintain information in maintenance management systems.
- Support reporting related to fleet maintenance, inventory, equipment status, and maintenance costs.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Journeyperson Parts Technician ticket preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in parts, service writing, maintenance coordination, fleet maintenance, or a related role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck, trailer, and heavy equipment parts.
- Experience in oil and gas, trucking, transportation, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with combo-vac units, hydro-vac units, tank trucks, trailers, pumps, fittings, hoses, filters, consumables, and common shop supplies is an asset.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance programs and fleet compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy shop and operations environment.
- Comfortable with computers.
- Able to interpret parts manuals, repair documentation, technical information, and work order details.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with mechanics, drivers, supervisors, dispatch, vendors, office staff, and management.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with limited supervision.
