Overview:
As a Shop Foreperson, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the daily activities of technicians in the shop. This includes supervising employees, delivery of quality diagnostic and repair services, maintaining equipment, and ensuring workplace safety.
As a Red Seal Certified RV Technician you will be performing pre-delivery inspections, accurately diagnosing, and repairing a variety of technical issues, inspecting, and adjusting, or overhaul recreational vehicles and travel trailers.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, participating in training, assisting co-workers, completing jobs with efficiency and other tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
SHOP FOREPERSON:
- Supervise and train shop staff.
- Create and manage the staff work and maintenance schedules.
- Oversee work to anticipate, detect and address factors that impede operations.
- Perform quality checks and major repairs performed in the shop to ensure shop standards are upheld.
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct performance reviews with shop staff.
- Meet with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
- Implement strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks such as updating and filling equipment orders, stock receipts, and staff schedules.
- Examine/troubleshoot and diagnose units needing repair and maintenance.
RED SEAL RV TECHNICIAN:
- Use your knowledge, skills and experience in the fulfillment of Shop Foreman responsibilities.
- Mentor RV technicians and trainees.
- Depending on overall workload and staffing levels:
- Install/repair and maintain interior and exterior components on motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheel trailers such as roof, siding, windows, doors, awnings, vents, floor cabinets, counters, plumbing systems, electrical systems, propane gas systems, batteries and charging systems, body, and structural components.
- Install accessories, perform pre-delivery inspections, troubleshoot, repair and conduct maintenance on propane gas and electric appliances - furnace, refrigerator, water heaters, and A/C units.
- Install hitches – including fifth wheel and wiring of tow vehicles.
- Use testing equipment / troubleshooting techniques / manufacturers specs and internet websites.
- Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation.
- Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
- Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins.
- Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

Qualifications:
- RV Technician Red Seal.
- Previous RV technician experience (minimum 5 years).
- Prior leadership/supervisory experience (minimum 2 years).
- Previous forklift experience preferred and considered an asset.
- Propane License or RV1 or RV2 License required.
- Valid driver's license required.
