Full job description

SHOAL Assisted Living is a wonderful place to call home for 25 Assisted Living Residents. The Assisted Living Apartments are upstairs in the SHOAL Community Centre building. The Overnight First Aid & Emergency Responder will be available on-site to provide first aid and emergency response to residents’ Lifeline calls throughout the night. Private accommodations are provided for relaxation and/or sleeping.

This is a 3-month temporary position from June 25, 2026, to October 1st, 2026

Days/Hours of Work: Thursday and Friday, 8:00 pm – 8:00 am

Closing Date: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overnight First Aid and Emergency Response to Lifeline calls by our 25 Assisted Living Residents
First Aid record keeping and Incident report documentation
Calling 911 and liaising with the Manager on call as needed
Provide an overnight report to the morning staff before the end of the shift
Light housekeeping (sweeping floors, laundry, sanitizing)
Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

First Aid with CPR C Certificate
Experience in dementia care is considered an asset

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
Ability to use initiative and exercise judgment as required
Ability to work in a manner that promotes dignity and joy
Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 (Work, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
