Job Title: Banquet Line Cook (Occasional between June- September)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Banquet Line Cook to join our event team on an occasional, on-call basis. This position is ideal for cooks looking for flexible work opportunities based on event schedules and business needs. Shifts will primarily take place during event preparation and service, with hours varying depending on the size and scope of each event.

The Banquet Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food according to established recipes and presentation standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate has previous kitchen experience, works well under pressure, and is committed to delivering high-quality food for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
Assist with banquet and event food production, setup, and service.
Ensure food is prepared and presented in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations throughout shifts.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
Assist with inventory organization, stock rotation, and kitchen preparation.
Support the culinary team with event setup, execution, and breakdown.
Monitor food quality and report any concerns to kitchen leadership.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure successful event execution.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a line cook, banquet cook, prep cook, or in a similar culinary role required.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under time-sensitive conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Food Handler Certification is an asset (if applicable).

Schedule

Casual, occasional work based on predetermined event schedule for 2026 (June- September)
Hours are based on event bookings and operational needs.
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Availability during peak event periods is preferred.

Work Environment

Fast-paced banquet, catering, and event kitchen settings.
Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.
Work may include both onsite event venues and commissary/production kitchens.
