Job Summary:
To lead the daily warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and site operations while ensuring customer requirements are met safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Site Manager is responsible for driving performance across people, safety, service, Warehouse Management System (WMS) discipline, inventory accuracy, housekeeping, compliance, customer execution, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Site Performance
- Lead the daily operation of the warehouse and site team
- Set clear expectations for supervisors, leads, shippers, receivers, operators, and warehouse staff
- Plan daily workload, assign priorities, monitor execution, and follow up on completion
- Hold team members accountable for safety, accuracy, productivity, attendance, and overall performance
- Train, coach, and support staff to improve consistency and execution
- Promote a performance-driven culture focused on safety, service, accuracy, urgency, and continuous improvement
WMS, Inventory & Warehouse Control
- Ensure all warehouse transactions are completed accurately and in real time within the WMS
- Maintain inventory accuracy by customer, SKU, lot, location, and status
- Ensure receiving, put-away, moves, picks, staging, shipments, adjustments, and cycle counts are completed properly
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, location issues, and transaction errors
- Ensure physical product movement matches system movement
- Support cycle count programs, inventory reviews, and customer inventory requirements
- Ensure warehouse space, staging areas, quarantine areas, damaged product areas, and overflow areas are organized and controlled
Shipping, Receiving & Customer Execution
- Oversee inbound and outbound warehouse activity
- Ensure customer orders are picked, staged, verified, documented, and shipped accurately and on time
- Coordinate dock activity, carrier flow, receiving priorities, outbound loading, and staging discipline
- Ensure shipping documentation, BOLs, TDG paperwork, labels, placards, and customer-specific requirements are completed correctly
- Work closely with logistics, transportation, customer service, planning, and quality teams to resolve issues and meet service commitments
- Support customer visits, inventory reviews, audits, and operational discussions
Safety, Compliance & Facility Standards
- Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental, AWSA, ISO, WHMIS, TDG, and contamination prevention standards are maintained
- Ensure team members follow site procedures, safe work practices, and customer handling requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready warehouse environment
- Ensure inspections, safety checks, housekeeping audits, and corrective actions are completed on tim
- Ensure damaged, leaking, nonconforming, or questionable product is properly identified, segregated, documented, and escalated
- Ensure warehouse equipment, forklifts, dock equipment, scanners, printers, supplies, PPE, labels, placards, pallets, and operating materials are available and properly maintained
Labour, Cost & Administrative Control
- Support staffing, labour planning, scheduling, and overtime management
- Ensure labour is aligned with daily volume, customer priorities, shipping schedules, receiving activity, and special projects
- Ensure billable projects, value-added services, and special work are tracked accurately for invoicing
- Support cost control related to labour, overtime, damages, supplies, rework, and equipment usage
- Support KPI tracking, operational reporting, and performance reviews
Continuous Improvement & Communication
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse flow, storage utilization, WMS discipline, inventory accuracy, labour efficiency, and customer service
- Communicate priorities, customer requirements, operational risks, and service concerns clearly and proactively
- Escalate service issues, inventory concerns, space constraints, safety concerns, or customer impacts quickly
- Assist with conflict resolution between team members, departments, customers, carriers, or vendors
- Complete other duties or special projects as required
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous experience managing warehouse teams, supervisors, or operational staff
- Strong knowledge of warehousing, distribution, logistics, and inventory control
- A combination of relevant training, warehouse experience, logistics experience, and leadership ability will be considered
- Experience working in a WMS-driven warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, picking, staging, loading, warehouse flow, and inventory accuracy
- Knowledge of AWSA, ISO, TDG, WHMIS, Health & Safety, and contamination prevention is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office with advanced skills in Excel
- Ability to lead from the floor and drive accountability ·
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service
Working Conditions:
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Travel may be required
- Overtime as required
