Home Health Care ManagerPosition Summary
The Home Health Care Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and growth of a Home Health Care storefront.
This is a hands-on, independent management position. The Manager will be responsible for running the storefront independently and taking ownership of all aspects of the day-to-day business, including customer service, sales, product recommendations, equipment rentals and sales, inventory management, merchandising, ordering, administration, community outreach, and business development.
The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, organized, personable, sales-oriented, and comfortable working independently. They must be able to recognize what needs to be done, prioritize responsibilities, and take action without requiring constant direction.
Key ResponsibilitiesStorefront Operations
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Home Health Care storefront.
- Open and close the store as required.
- Operate the storefront independently and confidently.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, professional, and welcoming.
- Maintain attractive and effective product displays and merchandising.
- Ensure products are properly priced, displayed, and readily available.
- Manage customer traffic, inquiries, phone calls, orders, rentals, and follow-ups.
- Resolve customer concerns and operational challenges promptly and professionally.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Customer Service & Patient Care
- Provide exceptional, compassionate, and personalized service to customers, patients, caregivers, and families.
- Take the time to understand each customer's individual needs.
- Recommend appropriate Home Health Care products and solutions based on customer requirements.
- Demonstrate products and explain their proper use when appropriate.
- Help customers navigate their Home Health Care needs with confidence and care.
- Build lasting relationships with customers and families.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle questions, concerns, complaints, and service issues professionally.
Sales & Business Development
- Take ownership of Home Health Care sales and revenue.
- Actively identify opportunities to grow sales through needs-based recommendations.
- Follow up on customer inquiries, quotes, referrals, and potential sales.
- Develop new business opportunities within the community.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals and referral sources.
- Develop relationships with hospitals, retirement residences, long-term care facilities, PSWs, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote Home Health Care products, services, rentals, and solutions.
- Participate in community events, health fairs, educational opportunities, and outreach initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a strong referral network.
- Identify creative opportunities to increase awareness of the Home Health Care business.
Equipment Sales & Rentals
- Manage Home Health Care equipment sales and rentals.
- Educate customers on equipment features, benefits, and appropriate use.
- Process rental agreements and maintain accurate rental records.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, pickups, returns, and exchanges.
- Monitor outstanding rentals and conduct appropriate follow-up.
- Ensure rental equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, inspected, and stored according to company procedures.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and servicing when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all equipment transactions.
Inventory Management
- Take full responsibility for Home Health Care inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify products requiring replenishment.
- Place and/or coordinate orders with suppliers.
- Receive, verify, and organize incoming shipments.
- Ensure products are properly entered, priced, stocked, and displayed.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Identify opportunities to improve product selection based on customer demand.
- Minimize inventory loss and maintain appropriate inventory controls.
Administration & Financial Responsibilities
- Process sales, payments, returns, rentals, and customer accounts accurately.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Manage quotes, purchase orders, invoices, rental agreements, and other administrative paperwork.
- Follow all cash-handling and financial procedures.
- Review sales activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor expenses and operate the business in a cost-conscious manner.
- Provide regular updates to senior management regarding sales, inventory, customer activity, challenges, and opportunities.
- Maintain organized records and ensure administrative responsibilities are completed on time.
Community & Referral Development
- Act as an ambassador for the Home Health Care business within the community.
- Proactively introduce Home Health Care services to potential referral partners.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations.
- Visit referral sources and develop meaningful professional relationships.
- Identify opportunities to educate healthcare professionals and the public about available products and services.
- Represent the organization at community events and health-related initiatives.
- Develop strategies to increase awareness and referrals to the storefront.
Store Presentation & Merchandising
- Maintain a professional, inviting, and accessible storefront.
- Ensure merchandise is presented in a clear and customer-friendly manner.
- Keep displays current and aligned with seasonal and promotional opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve product placement and increase sales.
- Maintain a consistently professional presentation of the storefront.
Independent Working Expectations
Because this position will frequently operate the storefront independently, the Home Health Care Manager must be comfortable being self-directed and accountable for the entire operation.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in Home Health Care, medical equipment, healthcare retail, pharmacy, rehabilitation, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous retail, sales, or business-management experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- Ability to learn and confidently explain Home Health Care products and equipment.
- Ability to safely handle and move Home Health Care equipment as required.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.

Overall Accountability
The Home Health Care Manager is responsible for ensuring that the storefront operates successfully every day.
This is a hands-on business management role, where the Manager is expected to serve customers, sell products, manage rentals, maintain inventory, complete administrative duties, build referral relationships, develop new business, maintain the storefront, and continuously identify opportunities for growth.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take significant ownership of the location and play a key role in building a successful, trusted, and growing Home Health Care business within the community.
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
