Job Summary:
The Site Supervisor at Blue Water Concepts Ltd. is pivotal in managing on-site logistics effectively, ensuring the company’s brand promise is upheld. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager, design teams, clients, and production team to oversee and drive the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for expediting the execution of all aspects of the projects including managing and scheduling subcontractors, field staff, and suppliers, in conjunction with the deliverables set out by the Project Manager.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a solid grasp of construction processes, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment filled with exciting and diverse opportunities.
Qualifications:
· Valid BC driver’s license
· Vehicle is required to perform the job (e.g., travelling between job sites, transporting tools/materials, responding to site needs)
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site supervision. Carpentry experience or background is an asset but not required
· Proven record of successfully overseeing projects of varying sizes and complexities
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
· Experience with budgeting, estimating, and scheduling
· Excellent leadership and team management abilities
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
· Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
· Proficiency in project management tools and software
· Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
· Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
· Ability to work under pressure to deliver completed projects by agreed-upon dates.
· Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industry-standard quantity surveying techniques.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver budget summaries clearly to clients and stakeholders.
· Experience in sales and customer service
· Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site & Safety Management — Enforce WCB safety compliance, conduct daily site inspections, orient new subtrades, and ensure the site is secure, clean, and weather-protected at all times.
- Quality Control — Read and interpret blueprints, inspect all work against project specifications and BCBC requirements, and proactively identify and prevent deficiencies.
- Schedule & Budget Coordination — Monitor project schedules daily, coordinate subcontractors and deliveries, and communicate progress and concerns to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
- Team & Subtrade Supervision — Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subtrades, manage carpentry crews and apprentices, and ensure all parties meet scope and quality expectations.
- Documentation — Maintain daily logs, site photos, toolbox talks, and project records; manage specifications binders and submit purchase orders and receipts accurately.
- Carpentry — Perform hands-on carpentry as needed (framing, firestopping, finishing, blower door tests), with the ratio of field vs. administrative work varying by project.
- Customer & Neighbour Relations — Represent the company professionally with clients, subtrades, and neighbours; escalate all scope, timeline, or change order discussions to the Project Manager.
