Lion One Metals is recruiting for a Mill Manager for its Tuvatu Alkaline Gold Project. This position will require an expat to live in Fiji.

The position incumbent is expected to work closely to supervise the Senior Metallurgist and with related senior Process Operations personnel to provide daily operational support to assist in identification, investigation, and implementation of production and cost improvements. The incumbent is also expected to work with process maintenance personnel as required.
PURPOSE:
To supervise the Metallurgy and Mining team to plan and execute technical projects and to continuously understand and improve the Mill Process and recovery methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, included but not limited to:
Comply with all Lion One Metals and Lion One Ltd Occupational Health and Safety requirements as well as those required under the Decree of the Ministry of Lands, Mineral Resources Department Chapter 146.
Provide daily operational support to assist in identification, investigation, and implementation of production and cost improvements.
Work with maintenance personnel as required.
Develop Fijian National Staff and Non-Staff, including active participation in the site succession planning process.
Ensure the transfer of technology from expatriate to National employees and support National employee training and skill development.
Provide on-the-job training in sound project management and control techniques for national staff assigned to projects.
Work with Mine Engineering, Geology and Operations personnel for ore body characterization and recovery/concentrate grade modelling and forecasting.
Work with the Lion One Marketing Department regarding concentrate shipment schedules and issues related to concentrate quality.
Design test programs, estimate costs of test programs, and manage the programs to successful completion independently and efficiently.
Work directly with Process Operations personnel in Process Optimisation, including:
Daily monitoring of process recoveries, concentrators, gravity circuit and ADR, CIL, and filter plant performance.
Troubleshooting plant performance issues.
Monitoring plant sampling and in-stream analyser equipment performance in circuits.
Calibration to ensure acceptable accuracy of in-stream analyser equipment.
Conducting circuit test work and plant surveys in the process and filter plant circuit.
Identifying, investigating and recommending circuit optimisation opportunities and initiatives for implementation.
Assisting in implementation of operational and capital initiatives as required by Process Operations and Maintenance.
Plan project activities including scope development, determining resources and execution of projects within approved time frames and budgets.
Prepare reports, interpret data and apply strong solution chemistry knowledge.
Direct research programs and manage related technical staff.
Assist in administration of data collection, establishment of cost controls and maintenance of budgets.
Coordinate work carried out by external consultants, contractors and suppliers on behalf of Lion One Ltd for projects, including administration of contracts.
Ensure projects are rigorously planned, scoped, resourced and executed within approved time frames and budgets.
Coordinate and manage ongoing recovery/concentrate grade model development and maintenance with Mine Geology, Mine Engineering and Metallurgy.
Support and contribute to the ongoing Mine to Mill program at Lion One.
Monitor and report project and performance on a regular basis.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
5 to 10 years of experience in Plant or Mill Management.
Proven knowledge of mineral processing, particularly in grinding and base metals beneficiation techniques.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Fluency in English, including communication and writing.
Proven teamwork and proactive independent work ethic.
Highly developed problem-solving, analytical thinking and creative thinking skills.
Supervisory and management experience.
Proven track record of project work.
Tertiary degree in Metallurgy or relevant engineering discipline.
DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong report writing skills.
Advanced degree is a plus.
