Job Summary
The Behavior Support Specialist (also known as Behavior Support Worker or Developmental Support Worker) provides direct care and behavior support in a structured clinical and community setting. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates in Psychology, Behavior al Science, Autism & Behavior al Studies, Social Work, Criminology, or related fields seeking hands-on clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities

Implement individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and skill acquisition programs.

Provide direct support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, mobility, and recreation.

Support individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and mental health challenges.

Collect behavioral data and complete daily documentation and incident reports.

Administer medications in accordance with policies and training.

Maintain a safe environment using approved crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.

Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development.

Work collaboratively with clinical staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Requirements

College diploma or university degree (or currently enrolled) in a related field
(Psychology, Developmental Services, Autism & Behavior al Science, Human Services, Social Work, Criminology, Police Foundations, or similar) -
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn.

Availability for rotating shifts (days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays)

Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviors is an asset.

Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an asset.

Current First Aid & CPR certification (with Red Cross Canada)

Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
Pay, Training & Benefits

Starting wage: $22.00/hour ($20.00/hour for students)

Wages are subject to increases after probationary period.
