Unique Electrical Specialist Opportunity
Neptunus Yachts is seeking knowledgeable individuals with electrical/systems installation experience who are interested in the unique challenges and rewards of semi-custom yacht building. 10 years of experience in the electrical field is a must. Ontario 309A or 442A is required
Located in St. Catharines, Ontario, Neptunus Yachts proudly produces multi-million dollar luxury motor yachts from 55’ to 75’ in length. Each yacht is customized to the individual client, with specialized construction methods constantly being developed and refined to provide the highest quality product possible.
A wide variety of electrical systems are utilized throughout the vessel, including source power conditioning, switching, protection and distribution (240VAC/120VAC and 24VDC/12VDC), propulsion control and navigation systems, lighting systems, fuel/tank systems, generators, thruster systems, climate control systems, modern appliances, powered roof and sunshade systems, stabilization systems and other state-of-the-art marine communication/control components.

As a Neptunus Yachts Electrical Specialist, you will be expected to:
- Read/Interpret drawings, blueprints and instructions for various products/installations
- Assemble and install a variety of power distribution components, including transformers, switches, breaker panels, relays, etc.
- Install/Repair/Replace electrical loads such as lighting fixtures, pumps, motors and communication/control systems such as propulsion/navigation, stabilization, etc.
- Prepare and install a wide range of other devices/components per vessel specifications
- Plan/run conduits/harnesses to support all equipment including brackets/hangers, etc.
- Label cabling/components with meticulous detail and execute related setup/testing for all systems/circuits throughout production and again upon commissioning/pre-delivery
- Troubleshoot/Diagnose faults/errors and execute repairs as required
- Maintain and continually update knowledge of products used, specified designs, established construction methods and general industry trends
- Understand mathematics and science required for product design and construction
- Demonstrate creativity and a logical approach to problem-solving, including assessing and suggesting improvements to production methods/techniques
- Maintain extensive knowledge of various types of technologies, production materials, tools/machinery and related setup/service/maintenance
- Effectively and efficiently work independently and also as a member of a team
- Effectively and efficiently communicate with co-workers and management
- Report to management on project status, obstacles/challenges and suggest solutions
- Ensure superior quality of executed work and report all concerns/non-conformities
- Exercise safety precautions and evaluate risks
Minimum requirements of this position are:
- Experience in AC/DC electrical; marine specific knowledge is an asset but not required
- Motivated and enjoy working with electrical systems and mechanical applications
- Familiar with basic electrical/mechanical tools and procedures
- Able to read and interpret basic blueprints/drawings
- Creative thinker and able to take a logical approach to problem solving
- Aptitude for fundamental mathematics and science
- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
- Possess endurance and the physical strength to lift 50 lbs
- Effectively communicate with others
- Awareness and concern for personal safety and the safety of others
- Consistent and very high attention to detail
- Punctual and reliable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37.00-$40.00 per hour
