Seasonal Property Maintenance Technician (Lawn Care & Grounds)

About the Role
Hanlyn Property Management is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Seasonal Property Maintenance Technician to maintain the exterior appearance of our residential properties throughout Hamilton and surrounding communities.
This is a structured, route-based position with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. The work completed by this role is time-sensitive and directly impacts our ability to comply with municipal property standards and waste collection schedules. Reliability, consistency, and accountability are essential.
Successful candidates may be offered seasonal rehire opportunities in future years or may be considered for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Using a company-provided vehicle and equipment, you will:
- Mow and maintain lawns at residential rental properties as directed
- Trim and edge grass around buildings, sidewalks, fences, and landscaping as directed
- Maintain clean, professional-looking exterior grounds.
- Roll garbage and recycling containers to the curb and return them following collection weekly for a select number or apartment buildings
- Complete basic property inspections while on site and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow established routes and daily schedules.
- Complete all assigned work on time and to a high standard.
- Submit a daily end-of-day email outlining completed work, outstanding items, and any issues requiring follow-up.
- Submit a weekly summary report to management.

Schedule & Attendance Expectations
This position operates on a fixed schedule throughout the contract period.
Because the work is seasonal and time-sensitive, regular attendance is essential. Grass cutting and waste collection must be completed on schedule to prevent municipal property standards concerns, by-law complaints, and service disruptions.
Applicants should expect to work their scheduled hours for the full contract term. Due to operational requirements, vacation requests during the contract period will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A valid Ontario Class G driver's licence.
- A clean driver's abstract.
- Experience operating lawn maintenance equipment (preferred).
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and pride in producing quality work.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- The physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
