Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, overseeing daily operations, financial performance, staff leadership, guest satisfaction, and brand standards. This role requires a strong hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
- Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain brand standards for food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and atmosphere
- Monitor service flow and adjust staffing and operations as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop all management and hourly staff
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture
- Lead by example on the floor during peak service times
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Address disciplinary issues professionally and consistently
Financial & Business Management
- Manage budgets, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operating expenses
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Drive revenue through promotions, events, and upselling strategies
- Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and financial controls alongside the franchise office
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Support and execute marketing initiatives and local promotions
- Build strong relationships within the Jungle Jim’s brand
- Represent the brand positively both in-house and externally
- Collaborate with the franchise office on growth and brand initiatives
Administrative & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports
- Review and approve all clocked hours for payroll processed by head office
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience managing or supervising in a full-service restaurant or bar
- Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and bar-focused operations
- Proven leadership and team-building skills
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, labor control, and cost management
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for hospitality and guest experience is essential
- Maintain up-to-date Food Handler’s certificate
