Our Housekeeping Manager leads the housekeeping team in delivering the highest standards of presentation, safety, and service. What You’ll Do
- Oversee and coordinate housekeeping systems and processes to maximize guest satisfaction, room inventory management, and revenue opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities related to housekeeping operations.
- Lead service initiatives to enhance guest and associate satisfaction.
- Assign and track housekeeping tasks, monitoring "No Service" rooms for security and productivity.
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.
- Manage housekeeping projects, including deep cleans, digital tipping platform, motion studies, linen reclaim program, and other special assignments.
- Handle lost and found inquiries and ensure timely follow-up.
- Prepare and manage team schedules based on business needs, budget guidelines, and operational requirements.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants, Housepersons, and Housekeeping Supervisors.
- Conduct recruitment forecasting to prepare for peak seasons and ensure quality hiring decisions.
- Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to ensure efficient deployment of resources while maintaining service standards by tracking productivity metrics and adjusting staffing levels according to business demands.
- Provide training, coaching, performance reviews, recognition initiatives, and development opportunities to support team growth, performance expectations, and safe work practices.
- Develop Housekeeping Supervisors and associates by creating growth opportunities in partnership with Human Capital and property leadership.
- Own the departmental timecard and payroll administration process for hourly housekeeping associates, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals and submissions.
- Manage overtime, vacation scheduling, and employee availability in accordance with company policies and union collective agreement.
- Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, including weekly supply inventories and bi-annual linen inventories.
- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and cleanliness expectations, supporting successful brand audits and quality assurance inspections.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and WHMIS standards while promoting environmental responsibility, green initiatives, and safe day-to-day work practices.
- Oversee the completion and tracking of all required compliance, health and safety, and brand training for housekeeping associates.
- Maintain working knowledge of the Collective Agreement, foster positive union relations, and ensure compliance with all union requirements.
- Champion associate engagement, recognition, retention, and workplace experience initiatives in partnership with the General Manager and Human Capital team.
- Collaborate closely with the Front Office team to optimize room inventory and support guest arrival and departure requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with Front Office, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other departments to support operational effectiveness and collaboration.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance housekeeping efficiency, productivity, service standards, and the overall guest experience.
- Serve as a member of the property's senior leadership team (SLT), contributing to operational excellence, revenue performance, service standards, people and culture initiatives, and strategic projects.

What You Bring
- 3–5 years of progressive hospitality and housekeeping experience, with previous management experience required.
- A degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or Tourism is an asset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Energetic, flexible, and able to work well under pressure.
- Customer service experience and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Project Management systems).
- Current First Aid and WHMIS certification.
Working Conditions
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching overhead and below the knees.
