Waterford Energy Services Inc (WESI) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Advisor to join a local oil & gas client. The main role of the HSE Advisor, Project Support is to support the projects team in planning and conducting project specific deliverables and safe offshore operations.

Position Overview

Provide health, safety, and environmental (HSE) support to project teams during the planning and execution of major projects.
Support both onshore project activities and offshore construction operations as required.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and project-specific HSE expectations.
Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to promote safe and efficient operations.
Monitor contractor activities and provide guidance on HSE best practices and safe work procedures.
Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of project risks.
Collaborate with project teams to foster a strong safety culture and achieve project HSE objectives.
Contribute to the successful delivery of projects through proactive HSE leadership and operational support.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in the field of Health Safety and Environmental Science and/or Occupational Health and Safety Certificate/Diploma or Degree from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CSP, ROH, or ROHT would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years specific experience in a prior HSE role including direct responsibility for the administration of Health, Safety and Environment management programs for the construction, offshore or marine industry.

The individual is self-motivated to ensure the timely completion of project requirements.
Ability to conduct audits and inspections, in addition to conducting and reviewing quality of incident investigations.
Possess excellent computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Extensive knowledge of applicable offshore, marine, and occupational health and safety regulatory requirements.
Extensive knowledge of best practice safety management processes.

Work Schedule

40 hours/week in office (8 hrs/day, 5 days/week)
Onshore based; offshore adhoc travel will be required. Candidates must be able to work offshore NL. Ideal candidate would have offshore training already complete.
