Job Summary
Northern Aesthetic Institute is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Aesthetic Injector Trainer to join its contract faculty for courses held in St. John's, Newfoundland. This opportunity is designed for a self-directed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with at least three years of continuous advanced injectable-treatment experience and a genuine passion for teaching.
The successful candidate will lead hands-on education for eligible health-care professionals, including LPNs and RNs, in advanced aesthetic procedures such as neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This is a course-by-course contract position that offers flexibility around existing professional commitments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (Contract Basis) The trainer's primary responsibility is the safe and effective education of medical professionals. Duties will be scheduled based on the training calendar:
1. Contracted Training Delivery
- Lead training programs. Deliver intensive, hands-on training in cosmetic injectable procedures, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP, and related treatments.
- Teach aesthetic artistry and clinical knowledge. Present high-level lectures and educational content on advanced facial anatomy, safe injection techniques, product selection, patient assessment, and complication management.
- Provide hands-on mentorship. Supervise and coach trainees during live-model practice, promoting clinical precision, learner confidence, and patient safety.
- Evaluate competence. Assess trainee performance and provide clear, constructive, and detailed feedback to the Institute’s Education Director.
2. Clinical & Professional Standards
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the clinical authority for the duration of the contracted course, ensuring all practices adhere to provincial and medical standards.
- Preparation: Review course materials and protocols prior to the course date to ensure alignment with Northern Aesthetic Institute's standards.
- Documentation: Ensure all required training and model documentation is meticulously completed and submitted promptly upon course conclusion.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Professional Licensure: Hold current, active, and unencumbered registration as an LPN or RN with the applicable Saskatchewan regulatory body.
- Aesthetic Experience: A minimum of 3 years (36 months) of continuous, hands-on experience as a cosmetic injector administering neuromodulators and dermal fillers in a clinical setting.
- Treatment Expertise: Proven proficiency in a wide range of injectable treatments and comprehensive facial assessment. Experience with PRP/Biostimulators is highly valued.
- Training/Teaching: Prior experience in a formal instructing, precepting, or mentoring role within the medical aesthetics or surgical field is preferred.
- Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrated advanced expertise in facial anatomy, aseptic technique, and emergency/complication management.
- Attributes: Superior communication, public speaking, and adult teaching skills. Must be reliable, highly professional, and available for flexible scheduling.
