Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will require a strong understanding of various accounting software.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage..
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Reconciling bank statements to company records
Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Preparing and filing GST/HST returns
Generating financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Performing accounts payable duties, including keeping track of supplier invoices and remitting timely payments
Overseeing accounts receivable by creating invoices and tracking payments
Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making processes.

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data accurately.
Eager about using AI and automation to make accounting faster and less manual.
