About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Welder to support our quarry operations through expert fabrication and welding. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, takes pride in their craft, and can work independently or with a team to support equipment reliability and structural safety.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform welding and fabrication on a wide range of heavy equipment and structural components - working both in the field and in our shop.
· Operate tools such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welders safely and efficiently
· Conduct preventative maintenance and repair work
· Ensure safety and environmental compliance at all times
· Assist with installation and modification of crushing and screening equipment as needed
· Keep accurate maintenance and repair records
Skills and Qualifications:
· Red Seal Certification in Welding preferred
· Minimum 5 years’ welding and fabrication experience (quarry or mining industry preferred)
· Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
· Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-first mindset
· Strong commitment to safety practices and guidelines.
· Exceptional attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
· Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Work in varying weather conditions and at different elevations.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
- Rotational shift work required, often exceeding twelve hours per day.
- Physically demanding role requiring climbing, lifting (over 50 lbs. occasionally), and other physical activities.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Weekend work will be required as certain maintenance must be completed outside of operating hours - coordination with other welders/maintenance team to ensure fair and reasonable weekend coverage will be required.
