Interim Director of Finance, (12 Month Contract)
Location: London, Ontario
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite preferred)
Term: 12-month contract
Start: Immediate
Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 per annum (Plus Benefits!)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced finance leader to step into a key accounting and finance leadership role on an interim basis (12 Month Contract). This individual will act as a trusted partner to the VP Finance and provide oversight across accounting operations, financial reporting, and core finance processes.
The successful candidate will lead a small team, maintain a disciplined close and reporting cycle, and support ongoing finance initiatives during a period of transition and change. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity suited to someone who brings strong controllership experience, a collaborative approach, and the ability to provide stability in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and finance operations.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Maintain a strong internal control environment and support compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
Supervise, coach, and support accounting staff while helping drive team effectiveness and continuity.
Partner closely with the VP Finance on operational priorities, reporting needs, and key business initiatives.
Serve as a primary point of contact for accounting, audit, tax, and regulatory matters.
Support finance transformation initiatives, including systems, processes, reporting and workflow improvements.
Help guide ongoing enhancements to reporting, controls, and finance operations.
Contribute to special projects related to process improvement, systems implementation, and organizational change.

Qualifications
CPA designation preferred; other relevant designations combined with significant leadership experience will also be considered.
7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership within controllership, accounting operations, or financial management.
Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor, and support team development.
Strong background in financial reporting, close management, internal controls, and process improvement.
Experience in a public company or similarly structured reporting environment is strongly preferred.
Exposure to finance transformation, ERP implementation, or other large-scale systems/process change is highly desirable.
Strong technical accounting foundation with knowledge of IFRS or GAAP; exposure to U.S. GAAP is an asset.
Effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across finance and the broader business.
Comfortable in a visible, hands-on leadership role with regular onsite presence.
