Department Name

Switchboard Operator

The Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering and redirecting all internal and external telephone calls coming into the switchboard as well as processing the applicable emergency line code procedures within the organization. The Switchboard Operator is also responsible for the administration of applicable messaging devices.

What we offer:

Rate of Pay: $29.01 per hour to $36.25 per hour

Status: Regular Part-Time

Hours of Work: up to 22 hours per week (no guarantee of hours)

Qualifications

Successful completion of a Secondary School diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the Hospital
Successful completion of an Emergency Telecommunications Certificate or two years of experience in a large volume inbound call center
Successful completion of a 2-year college certificate preferred
Recent and related Inbound call center and/or urgent dispatch experience
Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email
Demonstrated proficient communication skills; both verbal and written
Advanced Attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
Demonstrated ability to problem solve
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
