Become a valued member of our Garden Maintenance crew, assisting in maintaining our client's gardens. Most gardens are country residential properties, varying in size and design. The standard of landscape care is exceptional. All staff meet at our farm base in Glencairn each day and head out in company vehicles to the work sites.
The Garden Maintenance crew is responsible for all aspects of regular garden maintenance, and fall clean up, including but not limited to the following:
- Garden plant identification
- Weeding & cultivating garden beds
- Edging garden beds
- Pest identification and management
- Pruning, deadheading, staking and dividing plants
- Planting and maintenance of annuals in gardens and containers
- Safely operating a leaf blower
- Correct use of all hand tools
- Planting perennials and shrubs in new landscapes
- Watering & fertilizing gardens
- Planting flower bulbs
- Spreading topsoil and mulch
- Daily report writing
- Basic equipment and vehicle maintenance
The successful applicant will:
- Possess a passion for gardening, physical work and working outdoors with nature
- Be physically fit and energetic with great work ethic. Able to lift, bend and carry effectively. Able to walk for long periods. Able to be active all day
- Possess superior attention to detail skills
- Be willing to listen, learn, follow direction and accept constructive criticism from crew leader
- Be willing and able to work outside in all weather
- Enjoy working as part of an efficient, professional and collaborative team
- Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to connect positively with other crew members
- Be able to keep detailed site records
- Look forward to returning to this seasonal position each year, in order to build on skills and seniority
Job Type
- Seasonal work, starting immediately, early September to late November.
- We do not offer winter work
- Full days, 8.15am to 5pm, 5 days a week - Monday to Friday
- There is potential to be rehired for the position in spring 2027

- You must have your own, reliable transport to get to our farm base each morning
- We are not accessible by public transport

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Clean G or G2 drivers license. 5 years driving experience preferred but not essential
- Previous experience working with plants, farm work or outdoors in any physical job preferred but not essential. We are happy to train a willing and keen person.
- Willing to support an employee who after 1 year of employment is interested in pursuing an Apprenticeship as a Horticultural Technician through the Ontario Apprenticeship Program
