Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Used Car Sales Manager to assist in leading our retail sales team, and operate the used car department. In this role, you will drive sales growth by developing strategic sales initiatives, managing customer relationships, and ensuring the team exceeds performance targets. Your leadership will inspire a high-performance sales culture focused on customer satisfaction and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the car sales team to achieve and surpass sales goals through effective coaching and support
Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to expand the dealership’s used vehicle market share
Appraise prospective trade-in vehicles, and prospective dealer purchases
Oversee the reconditioning and wholesaling of pre-owned vehicles
Conduct negotiations with customers to maximize deal value while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards
Maintain and manage acceptable level of used vehicle inventory
Ensure acceptable presentation of inventory at all times (pricing, condition, marketing)
Support marketing efforts by promoting used vehicle inventory through various channels, including digital platforms and community outreach
Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring a seamless customer experience
Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions

Skills

Proven experience in dealership or retail sales management, preferably in the used car market
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage a robust sales pipeline and support ongoing B2B sales initiatives
Exceptional organizational skills to coordinate sales activities and inventory management
Skilled in outside sales techniques and upselling strategies to maximize revenue opportunities
Knowledge of marketing principles, customer service excellence, and effective phone etiquette
Deal-desking skills to ensure correct and optimal numerical communication between dealer and customer
Experience with dealership operations, including deal management systems and retail sales processes
