Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our clients with autism to use verbal and AAC communication. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatrics or interventions for those with autism. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various Speech-Language Pathologists. The role includes a systematic onboarding and training in the areas of autism intervention, use of Jane.app and clinical skill development. The ideal applicant has completed a CDA College Program and is interested in on-going coaching to maximize their effectiveness as a clinician.
Synergy Kids offers ABA, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and respite services. We are a growing small business that specializes in supporting kids and teens with autism. Synergy Kids is open 7-days a week; with a focus on evening and weekend hours. Our center features a large gym space, sensory room, kitchen, classroom and 1:1 Therapy rooms. Staff are supported by a team of receptionists and facility cleaners.
The CDA role will include weekend and evening working hours. Please include which days and times you prefer for your shifts in your cover letter or email application. This role is ideal for someone looking for part-time work. This role could be combined with Receptionist or ABA Therapist duties to form full time hours if needed. The start date and number of hours per week is flexible for the right applicant. The rate of pay for this role will be determined with experience and independence in the field. Those requiring extensive training/support can expect to receive less than $35 per hour. Those with experience implementing CDA interventions with kids with autism, and the confidence to work with minimal supervision will be compensated above $35 per hour.
Duties
- Assist with SLP Assessments (in-person)
- Collect and record accurate data using Jane.app or Motivity software
- Implement treatment plans as directed by a Speech-Language Pathologist in the areas of speech, language, AAC, literacy and therapy readiness skills
- Collaborate with ABA and OT staff
- Involve parents in sessions
- Plan and implement creative, enthusiastic and motivating interventions inside Synergy Kids.
- Conduct 1:1 Therapy sessions including writing a clinical note after each session
- Dedicated to life-long learning and clinical self-improvement.

Shifts
- This role will have specific and consistant working hours dependant on client needs. At this time the schedule for July and August will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for 3 hour shifts. For September -January the schedule will include at least one evening shift and one weekend shift. Candiates seeking 3-15 hours per week should apply to this role, with specific days and times for shifts to be determined during the interview process.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
