Location: Stony Plain, Alberta
Salary: 100,000-110,000- based on experience
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
On-Call Requirement: Availability for weekends and after-hours support as required. RDE Group operates 24/7, and this role is a key part of maintaining operational readiness.

The Opportunity
RDE Group is seeking an experienced and highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, parts procurement, inventory management, and operational readiness of our growing fleet of heavy equipment and support vehicles.
This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, supporting our field operations, and ensuring our maintenance team has the resources and direction needed to keep projects moving efficiently.

- Service Trucks and Support Equipment
- Additional construction and earthmoving equipment
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Planning
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate and prioritize repairs to maximize equipment availability.
- Track service intervals, inspections, warranties, and equipment history.
- Work closely with operations to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Parts Procurement & Inventory Management
- Source and procure parts, components, and consumables.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and dealerships.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure critical parts are available when needed.
- Monitor purchasing costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
Team Support & Leadership
- Provide daily direction and support to the mechanical team.
- Assist mechanics with parts identification, breakdowns, and troubleshooting resources.
- Coordinate external vendors and specialized repair services when required.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Fleet Administration
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Monitor fleet performance and maintenance costs.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for fleet maintenance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related leadership role.
- Strong understanding of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment.
- Experience sourcing parts and managing vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and fleet management systems.
- Ability to read parts manuals, service documentation, and technical schematics.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
- Experience in construction, earthworks, asphalt, or drilling operations is considered a strong asset.
