The Position:
We are looking for a highly motivated individuals with an excellent work ethic to fill the position of Landscape Foreman/woman. Reporting to management, the Landscape Maintenance Foreman/woman is to direct, organize, control and coordinate all activities related to maintaining overall operational excellence at jobsites with little or no supervision. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, time conscious and have an exceptional understanding and knowledge of landscape maintenance with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience. Post-secondary, horticulture and arborist education/ experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and operate a crew truck and maintenance/construction equipment
Lead a 1–3-person maintenance/construction crew
Ability to also complete landscape construction work from time to time is essential
Provide mentoring and guidance to crew members
Perform regular inspections of properties to assess needs and quality standards.
Manage schedules, equipment, and maintenance supplies efficiently.
Maintain a clean jobsite
Complete daily reports and job package paperwork to improve job site productivity and quality
Safely operate various hand, power tools and equipment
Promote and manage a safety culture, and ensure compliance to safety standards and safe work practice for all staff
Maintain positive client and consultant relationships
Position requires approximately 50-60 hrs a week

Qualifications:

Reliable, team oriented individual that is able to perform independently without supervision
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Detail oriented
The ability to lead and direct a team of 1-3 people; ability to provide mentoring and guidance to crew members is required
Ability to read and interpret drawings & blueprints
Experience operating a variety of hand and power equipment
Experience operating sit down and stand up ride mowers, hand mowers, leaf blowers, weed trimmers, and variety of hand tools
Knowledge of horticulture, landscape design, and maintenance practices.
Aptitude for physically demanding, outdoor work
Ability to multi-task and adapt to change in a dynamic environment
Ability to maintain high standard of operational excellence
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating diplomacy
Open to continuous learning

Rate of Pay: Dependent on experience
