Job Description
This role involves fabricating and finishing metal components to precise customer specifications using detailed schematics and blueprints. You will perform high-quality welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) processes, while working in a heavy industrial environment that supports a wide range of fabrication activities.
Responsibilities

Fabricate and finish specific components from detailed schematics, blueprints, and materials to meet customer requirements and specifications.

Perform welding using GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to required specifications.

Carry out welding, grinding, and related fabrication duties as required to complete assemblies and structures.

Work from complex drawings and blueprints, ensuring accurate interpretation of dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols.

Fit, position, and align components prior to welding to ensure proper assembly and structural integrity.

Use flux core welding techniques when required for specific applications or materials.

Collaborate with other team members in fitting, welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly departments to complete projects.

Handle and move materials and components safely, including performing heavy lifting as needed in a heavy industrial environment.

Inspect welds and finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Essential Skills-
Minimum 3+ years of MIG (GMAW) welding experience.

Minimum 1+ year of TIG (GTAW) welding experience.

Proficiency in welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and welding symbols.

Experience working from detailed schematics and drawings to produce accurate components.

Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in a heavy industrial environment.

Practical experience with flux core welding.

Fitting skills for assembling and aligning components prior to welding.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.

Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a fabrication shop setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
CWB, AWS, or TSSA welding tickets are an asset.

Overhead crane certification is an asset.

Experience working in environments that include fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly.

Background in fabricating components for heavy truck, defense, or off-road equipment applications is beneficial.

Ability to work straight day or afternoon shifts as required.

Strong teamwork and communication skills within a multi-department fabrication environment.

Work Environment
The facility focuses on fabricating and assembling components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment applications. Operations include fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly, producing everything from small components to large structures, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will work in a heavy industrial environment that involves heavy lifting, material handling, and the use of overhead cranes and other fabrication equipment. Straight shifts are available: day shift runs from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, and afternoon shift runs from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday to Thursday. The role offers a structured schedule with a shift premium for afternoon work, in a setting that emphasizes safety, productivity, and collaboration across multiple departments.
