Overview:
We are currently seeking a Junior Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Planning team. Our team specializes in managing comprehensive environmental approvals from planning through construction, leveraging innovative engagement tools and deep regulatory knowledge to streamline project delivery.
This is a new position and is based at our Kitchener or London offices. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities:
About the Position
Project Delivery
- Support projects for public and private sector clients related to EA, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring, with a focus on linear infrastructure EAs (Individual/Comprehensive EAs, Municipal Class EA, MTO, Hydro One, Metrolinx/TRPAP)

Support federal EAs and work with Indigenous communities. Work with multi-disciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects, with a focus on removing barriers and improving access on roads, highways, transit, and active transportation facilities

Support innovative EA consultation processes.

Qualifications:
- A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field

1-3 years’ EA experience, preferably in the consulting industry, with an emphasis on linear infrastructure (pipelines, electric transmission lines, roads, highways, transit)

Strong communication, report writing, organization, interpersonal skills

Valid Class G Driver’s License
Experience:
Ideally, your experience can demonstrate the following:

Knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements

Compensation
$60,000 - $90,000
At Dillon, we believe in transparency. The following salary range is what we expect to offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
