We are currently seeking an Inspector to join our Municipal Division to work out of our Kitchener office.

Responsibilities
Inspector:
- Field review of construction projects, as needed;
- Conduct onsite inspections of underground services and road works including quantity measurements, in accordance with applicable Ontario Provincial Standards, Regional Standards, Municipal Standards and MTE specifications;
- Survey and record elevations of installed underground services, providing documentation of as-built information for submission to Municipalities;
- Monitor and coordinate surface works including concrete works, tree planting, CCTV inspections, surface asphalt, and pavement markings, as per requirements by Municipalities;
- Communicate with contractors, and government agencies to confirm standards, problem solve conflicts and provide progress updates on projects;
- Provide design and constructability feedback and suggestions to designers, design engineers and project managers;
- Coordination with property owners;
- Other related duties, as assigned.
CAD:
- Prepare detailed design drawings and figures for a wide variety of civil engineering projects, using AutoCAD Civil 3D desktop software, including but not limited to alignments, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors;
- Attend and participate in project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables;
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology;
- 0-3 years’ experience in a similar role (including co-op experience);
- Understanding of applicable design standards and general engineering principles;
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings;
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software;
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Working towards C.E.T. designation;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- General knowledge and understanding of construction safety, per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects;
- Construction experience would be considered an asset;
- Understanding of applicable regulations and legislation, related to construction projects;
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communication, and comprehension skills;
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Required to have your own vehicle and a valid driver's license in good standing. Mileage will be reimbursed for work related travel.
