Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Companion/Caregivers to provide essential support and companionship to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private residences. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those they serve.

Duties

Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental well-being
Support with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing personal spaces
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
Monitor residents’ health status and report any concerns to medical staff or family members
Engage clients in recreational activities, hobbies, or conversation to promote social interaction
Follow care plans and document care provided accurately

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certification in caregiving or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory
Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
