Role Overview
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting daily receiving operations, reconciling product and pricing data, and ensuring all item and cost changes are properly reflected in the ERP system. This role is central to preventing stock issues, supporting purchasing decisions, and keeping warehouse, sales, and accounting teams aligned.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Receiving & Reconciliation
· Verify inbound shipments, quantities, lot codes, expiry dates, and product condition.
· Match received goods to supplier invoices and flag discrepancies in pricing, quantities, or product codes.
· Communicate receiving discrepancies to purchasing, accounting, and warehouse teams.
Inventory Adjustments & Issue Resolution
· Process stock corrections for damages, shrink, mis-picks, cycle counts, and warehouse variances.
· Investigate and troubleshoot inventory issues such as missing stock, incorrect counts, duplicate SKUs, or mis-located items.
· Support cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
Price Management & Cost Accuracy
· Update cost, wholesale, and retail pricing in the ERP system.
· Ensure pricing changes are communicated to sales, accounting, and warehouse teams before activation.
· Maintain historical pricing records for audit and reporting.
Item Setup & ERP Maintenance
· Create and maintain item codes, descriptions, categories, pack sizes, vendor codes, and pricing.
· Maintain ERP data integrity by ensuring all product attributes, vendor details, and units of measure are accurate.
· Support system improvements, reporting enhancements, and data cleanup projects.
Cross-Functional Communication
· Provide timely communication to warehouse, sales, purchasing, and accounting teams regarding new item codes, price changes, discontinued items, receiving discrepancies, and inventory adjustments.
· Collaborate across departments to ensure inventory accuracy and operational alignment.
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
· 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, or distribution.
· Strong proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar).
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation).
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
