About Kismet Learning Centre

Kismet Learning Centre (KLC) is a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to helping children, youth, and families thrive. We provide individualized services through a collaborative team that includes Occupational Therapists (OTs), Behaviour Consultants (BCBA), and Behaviour Interventionists (BIs) who work together to support skill development, independence, participation, and overall well-being.

Our Summer Camp program is designed to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where children can build social connections, develop new skills, and participate in meaningful recreational experiences. Volunteers play an important role in helping us create positive and memorable experiences for every camper.

Whether you're pursuing a career in education, psychology, behaviour analysis, occupational therapy, healthcare, or human services, volunteering at KLC offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals and making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

What You'll Do

As a Summer Camp Volunteer, you may:

Assist camp leaders with daily activities and transitions
Support children during games, arts and crafts, sensory activities, and outdoor play
Help prepare and organize camp materials and activity stations
Encourage social interaction, participation, and inclusion among campers
Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and maintaining a safe environment
Provide one-to-one or small-group support under staff supervision
Support special events, field trips, and themed activity days
Help monitor camper engagement and celebrate successes throughout the day

Who We're Looking For

We welcome individuals who are:

19 years of age or older
Positive, reliable, and enthusiastic
Comfortable working with children and youth
Patient, compassionate, and able to work as part of a team
Interested in education, psychology, behaviour analysis, child development, social work, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, recreation, or related fields
Able to commit to a regular volunteer schedule throughout the summer

Preferred Qualifications

The following are considered assets:

Experience working with children or youth
Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
