Full job description

Meinhardt Fine Foods is currently seeking a Full Time Production Cook with experience in Authentic Indian Cuisine for our South Granville, Vancouver location.

About Us:

Meinhardt Fine Foods is Western Canada's culinary destination. Our goal is to serve up a delicious line of freshly prepared foods, with a compelling line of signature items – all in a fresh and entertaining environment where you will want to "feed your curiosity”.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

2+ years’ experience in high volume production cooking
Food Safe – Level 1 required
Previous retail or customer service experience in a grocery setting an asset
Ability to work well in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency
Love to have things organized and clean, are self-motivated and reliable
Can juggle multiple tasks, manage your time well, and work well under pressure
Ability to take direction, adhere to established company policies and follow through with assigned tasks
Willingness and availability to work a variety of shifts, including: Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends & Holidays
Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
Able to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
Excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

Work with the Chef to prepare authentic Indian dishes (vegetarian, meat and seafood)
Ensure that our food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation will meet Meinhardt’s high standards (includes following specific recipes)
Follow all food safety requirements
Keep department continually clean, well maintained and organized
Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
Ensure all catering orders are completed on time
Give every customer immediate and undivided attention
Train and mentor new kitchen team members
Assisting with monthly inventory
To perform other duties and tasks assigned, as consistent with the nature and scope of the position.
