Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment & Workforce Development Specialist with previous staffing agency experience and an established network of workers, recruiters, and industry contacts across Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.
This is not an entry-level recruiting position. We are looking for someone who can quickly source, attract, and maintain a bench of qualified workers while leveraging existing relationships and recruitment channels to support rapid staffing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard warehouse associates, lumpers, forklift operators, machine operators, delivery helpers, and general labourers.
- Build and maintain a qualified bench of workers across Ontario, BC, and Alberta.
- Utilize existing industry connections, referral networks, social media groups, and recruitment channels to source candidates.
- Conduct interviews and pre-screening of applicants.
- Coordinate onboarding documentation and compliance requirements.
- Maintain recruitment pipelines and candidate databases.
- Develop partnerships with community groups, colleges, newcomer organizations, and employment agencies.
- Support urgent and same-day staffing requirements.
- Track recruitment KPIs and hiring performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of staffing agency or workforce solutions experience.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting high-volume hourly labour positions.
- Existing network of candidates and recruitment sources within warehousing, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of recruitment practices across Ontario, BC, and Alberta.
- Experience using job boards, social media recruiting, referral programs, and community outreach.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting independent contractors and temporary labour.
- Existing relationships within logistics, warehousing, transportation, or staffing industries.
- Experience with ATS, CRM, and workforce management platforms.
Success Metrics
- Number of qualified candidates recruited monthly.
- Growth of active worker bench in each province.
- Time-to-fill open positions.
- Fill rate for urgent staffing requests.
- Worker retention and onboarding completion rates.
Compensation
Competitive base compensation plus performance-based incentives tied to successful placements, bench growth, and staffing fulfillment targets.
