Chinook School Division is seeking applications for casual Secretaries for the following schools:

Non-Union ($20.27/hour):
Cabri, Central, Consul, Eastend, Ecole Centennial, Fairview, Maverick, Ponteix, Gull Lake
SEIU ($20.16/hour):
Shaunavon High, Val Marie

General Description:
A team member responsible to the Principal for ensuring the school office functions in an efficient and effective manner. This position requires the performance of secretarial/ clerical tasks and related office functions to provide support for the principal, school staff and students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division

Perform receptionist duties by greeting visitors and parents, assisting with the intercom system, answering the telephone, ascertaining the nature of business, providing information or redirecting inquires as required

Perform various computer, word processing and typing responsibilities
-
Process mail on a daily basis if required
-
Duplicate, produce and process materials using appropriate equipment as directed.

Follow up on student attendance and absentees by phone; issue appropriate late slips, filing of attendance sheets complete by teachers and reports as requested by the Principal

Maintain filing systems for the school office

Provide minor first aid such as dispensing band aides to students if required
-
Assist in the supervision of students as requested

Ability and experience in working with children

Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment
