Sign Maker and Installer

Located in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Vango Signs and Designs, Inc. is a high-energy, family-owned full-service sign company serving Cape Breton. Our small team prides itself on delivering top-notch products and exceptional customer service in a collaborative environment.

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Sign Maker and Installer. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, physically fit, creative, has a strong work ethic and is detail - oriented. Sign makers and installers are responsible for producing and installing a variety of signs and graphics while ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining a positive team spirit. Hands-on training provided.

Responsibilities

Operate sign-making equipment: CNC, laser cutter, vinyl cutters, large format printers, and laminators
Operate hand tools including but not limited to jig saws, circular saw, blades
Prepare and apply vinyl to various substrates, ensuring precision and quality
Assist with the installation of indoor and outdoor signs, adhering to safety standards, including but not limited to wall murals, vehicle graphics, banners, roadside signs
Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction from concept to completion
Work closely with team members to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations

Qualifications

1 + years recent physical labour experience, ideally in signage or carpentry
1 + years experience with sign fabrication and vehicles wraps, preferred
Proficient at using electrical and hand tools; basic carpentry skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
Fast learner, creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks
High School Diploma
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and a clean driver’s record
Must be able to consistently work 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday

Work Environment and Physical Abilities

Requires frequent squatting, standing, lifting, bending and stooping for prolonged periods of time
Requires ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Requires using signage equipment, power and hand tools and working at various heights in various weather conditions
Work is performed onsite and at customer locations

Additional Information

Full –Time. 8:00 - 4:00, Mon. – Fri.
$19-23/hour, commensurate with skills and experience, plus bonus
Time off between Christmas and New Year’s
