Full job description

Are you a natural relationship builder with a passion for sales and the construction industry? Kent Building Supplies is looking for a Contractor Outside Sales Representative to drive business growth by developing and managing contractor accounts across the Sydney region. This is a field-based role focused on building strong partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that help contractors succeed.

Actively prospect and develop new contractor accounts within your assigned territory
Visit job sites and client offices to understand project needs and offer product recommendations
Build long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals
Generate quotes, material take-offs, and product lists based on project specifications
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
Track sales activity and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and new products
Meet and exceed sales targets through proactive territory management and customer engagement

Proven success in outside sales, preferably in construction, building materials, or a related industry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset
Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for growing business
Ability to work independently in the field and manage your own schedule
Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and terminology
Experience with CRM tools and sales reporting is an asset
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
