L&L Patterson Renovations Inc. is expanding our operations and strengthening our partnership with Efficiency Nova Scotia. As demand for energy-efficient home upgrades continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our Efficiency Division.
This position will focus primarily on the installation, service, and maintenance of residential and light commercial heat pump systems while working alongside our growing team of renovation and energy-efficiency professionals.
Responsibilities
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service ductless and ducted heat pump systems
Perform diagnostics and repairs on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, building codes, and safety regulations
Complete service reports, commissioning documents, and warranty paperwork accurately
Work directly with homeowners while maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude
Assist in planning and coordinating installations to ensure projects are completed efficiently
Mentor and guide apprentices and labourers working alongside the installation team
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and organized manner
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification (Red Seal preferred)
Experience installing and servicing residential heat pump systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various weather conditions
Working knowledge of Efficiency Nova Scotia programs is considered an asset
Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Clean Driver's Abstract (asset)
Ability to safely back up and maneuver a trailer
Ability to pass background and reference checks
Own basic hand tools
Reliable transportation to and from work

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
