Summary

MiLo Group Ltd. is looking for a Low Voltage Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, field-based role, travel is required.

Responsibilities

Installation, termination and testing of CAT-6/6A and fiber optic communication cabling
Installation and termination of CAT-6/6A patch panels
Use of Copper Cabling certification tools
Installation of fiber optic enclosures, bulk heads and termination of mechanical fiber optic connectors as well as fusion splicing
Use of OTDR fiber testing tools
Installation of security and control related wiring; Banana Wire, 22/4, 18/2
Installing cabling in conduit and open ceiling spaces (J-hooks)
Finishing and installing devices of various types
Deploy wireless access points and other PoE devices
Adhere to safety protocols
Possess willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Time Management and Leadership qualities
Network topology knowledge
Delegate tasks and responsibilities and work in team environment

Qualifications

Industry training and experience with various structured cabling systems (Panduit, Corning, Commscope are preferred)
Commercial construction experience
Read and decipher blueprints
Experience in rough-in of card access and intrusion alarm wiring (preferred)
Experience installing conduit (preferred)
Fall Protection
MEWP/Aerial Platform
WHIMIS (preferred)
CSTS (preferred)
First Aid (preferred)
Possess a valid class 5 operators license
