Full job description

Job description: Steady afternoon shift

Responsibilities:

IMPORTANT - MUST know how to perform nesting
Operate laser cutting machine to cut and shape materials according to specifications
Must be able to program orders to specs, complete all set up and operations of the machine.
Monitor machine performance and adjust as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency
Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to keep it in good working condition
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents to understand job requirements
Always ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Troubleshoot problems with equipment or materials and make necessary repairs or adjustments
Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects
Keep accurate records of production and materials used for reporting purposes
May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require.

Requirements:

MUST have a minimum of two years’ experience operating laser cutting machines
Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
Familiar with safety regulations and procedures related to laser operation
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machine malfunctions
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds if/when needed (overhead hoists available for heavy lifts and forklift places steel bundles on saw intake conveyor rollers)
Overhead crane certification an asset
Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
Ability to perform all dimensional inspections.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
Physically capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy materials
Good communication and teamwork skills
Wage is dependent on experience
