The Team:
FrontCounter BC is a dynamic, service focused team that provides a one stop experience for natural resource authorizations across the province. We support clients with applications for Crown land use, water licences, and a wide range of permits within the Natural Resource Applications and Permits framework. Our team excels at helping clients navigate complex processes, guiding them to the right resources and ensuring they have the support they need from start to finish.
The Role:
As an Office Services Supervisor with FrontCounter BC, you will be at the heart of our natural resource permitting operations, leading the team that ensures applications are received, accepted, and moved forward with accuracy and care. You will collaborate daily with a skilled and diverse group of colleagues, from Client Service Representatives to Natural Resource Specialists and Fish & Wildlife Permit Clerks, working together to keep our systems running smoothly and aligned with legislation, policy, and best practices. In this role, your leadership will directly shape the client experience, helping the public and industry navigate complex processes with confidence. We’re looking for someone who brings inclusive thinking, fresh ideas, and a passion for operational excellence as we continue to strengthen transparent, efficient, and innovative processes that support sustainable natural resource management across the province.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Diploma and six (6) months of related experience; OR,
- Certificate or coursework and one (1) year of related experience; OR,
- Secondary School graduation (GED) and two (2) years of related experience; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
- Experience leading others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft desktop applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:
- experience leading administrative and/or financial support staff;
- a combination of three (3) years of related experience, education and/or training (e.g. clerical or administrative support); and/or,
- experience with natural resource applications.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Smithers.
This location receives a $39.92 bi-weekly isolation allowance.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Smithers.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
