Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, food service, and sanitation within a supportive environment such as assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals. This role is essential in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Previous experience in food handling, food industry, or kitchen environments is preferred. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others while developing valuable skills in food service and healthcare settings.

REQUIREMENTS:

Vulnerable police sector check

CPR certificate

Proof of covid vaccination

Tb 1 and 2 or chest x-ray

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly according to dietary guidelines and resident/patient needs
Serve meals in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food service equipment in compliance with health regulations
Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and hygiene procedures
Support with cleaning duties including dishwashing, surface sanitation, and waste disposal
Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages
Follow established safety protocols during food preparation and service to prevent accidents or contamination
Collaborate with kitchen staff and healthcare team to deliver quality nutritional care

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and respectful demeanor
Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards
Excellent time management skills to efficiently prepare and serve meals within scheduled times
Capable of working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Basic kitchen experience including cleaning, sanitation, and food handling procedures
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff members
Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding dietary restrictions and meal plans

This position provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on residents' lives through nutritious meal service while gaining valuable experience in healthcare-related food services.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
